Emma

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, was born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both of whom were lawyers. The couple relocated to Oxfordshire in the year she turned five and enrolled in at the Dragon School. Emma was inspired to become an actor when she was six. Through the years she was enrolled in the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. She learned to sing as well as dancing, and also acting. When she was ten, she was performing and taking as the main character in several Stagecoach productions and school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, the 2001 film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Emma was initially discovered as a casting agent by her Oxford drama instructor. David Heyman announced to Emma that after eight consecutive auditions Emma and Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. Emma's debut film appearance came with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. The movie broke all records for the opening weekend and numbers, and was the highest-grossing film of 2001. The film was praised by critics and the performances of the three leading actors of the young generation. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British newspaper, called Emma's performances "amazing". Emma won the Young Artist Award as the Leading Young Actress for an Feature Film. She was later nominated five times for her role in the movie.
